What can a QR code contain?
🔗 URLs
The most common use. Link to a website, product page, landing page, or app store listing — just scan and go.
📶 WiFi
Share WiFi credentials without typing passwords. Guests scan the QR code and connect automatically on iOS 11+ and Android 10+.
✉️ Email & SMS
Pre-fill an email or SMS with a recipient and message. Useful for customer feedback forms and contact cards.
🔢 Error correction
Higher EC levels (Q, H) let the QR code remain scannable even if up to 30% of it is obscured or damaged — useful for printed materials.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this QR code generator free?+
Yes, completely free with no watermarks. Download the PNG and use it anywhere — print, digital, commercial use. No account required.
Do the QR codes expire?+
No. These are static QR codes — the data is encoded directly in the image. They work forever without any server dependency. (Dynamic QR codes that redirect through a URL service can expire, but these don't.)
What size should I use for printing?+
For printing, use L or XL size (300-400px) and ensure the printed QR code is at least 2cm × 2cm. Larger prints should be at least 3-4cm. Always test-scan before mass printing.
What does error correction level mean?+
Error correction lets the QR code be read even if part of it is damaged. L=7%, M=15%, Q=25%, H=30% damage tolerance. Higher levels create denser (more complex) QR codes. M is recommended for most uses.
